Upcoming DART Service and Fare Changes Effective Feb. 14th
After receiving rider feedback at several outdoor Community Conversations in September/October, and a virtual Public Hearing Workshop held in November, DART has approved statewide service and fare changes to become effective February 14, 2021.

DART bus service will be impacted in New Castle County by DelDOT’s I-95 Rehabilitation Construction project, Restore the Corridor. The project begins from the I-495 split south of Wilmington to north of the Brandywine River Bridge. DART has made service changes and developed strategies to help riders navigate the I-95 construction and to help mitigate traffic impacts. Some bus routes will be re-routed away from I-95 to travel I-495 and/or US 13 into Wilmington to help with anticipated delays in travel time. A new bus lane has been constructed on portions of northbound US 13 to allow for expedited travel. In addition, some routes will have trips with low ridership discontinued where warranted; other routes extended based on demand. Schedule times on some routes will be adjusted to improve on-time performance and connections. SEPTA’s Wilmington/Newark Line resumed train service to Fairplay at Churchmans Crossing and Newark Stations. The train will be one of the fastest options for travel between Newark and Wilmington or Claymont. For schedule information, please visit septa.org.
For Kent and Sussex Counties, some minor schedule adjustments will be made to improve on-time performance and connections. DART’s daily Beach Bus service will operate from May 24 through September 12, 2021. Route 305-Beach Connection will operate Saturdays, Sundays, and holidays from May 29 to September 6, including Monday, July 5.
Highlights of DART’s statewide fare change include zone reductions from 7 to 3 statewide (by County border) resulting in fewer multi-zone rides; price reductions for Daily, 7 and 30-Day Passes; introduction of a 20-Ride Ticket, as well as a Student Fare; and the discontinuation of DARTCards.
Attached are details of the service and fare changes in both English and Spanish. Please help us spread the word. For more information, please visit DartFirstState.com or call 1–800–652-DART. Follow DART on social media to keep updated with the latest rider information and alerts.
