Senate Bill 60 allows nurse practitioners and physician assistants to recommend medical marijuana for adult patients.

Senate Bill 60 allows nurse practitioners and physician assistants to recommend medical marijuana for adult patients. This would grant patients easier access to safer alternatives to opioids and other medicines that can have addictive and harmful side-effects. If the qualifying patient is under the age of 18, the prescriber must be a pediatric neurologist, gastroenterologist, oncologist, or palliative care specialist.
