Removing hurdles for released inmates to integrate back into society after serving their time is important in reducing the recidivism rate here in Delaware. To help tackle this, Senator Lopez introduced and the Senate unanimously passed Senate Bill 66.

SB66 exempts an individual from having to pay the revoked license or driving privileges reinstatement fee if he or she is eligible and applies within one year of release. The ability to legally drive is imperative for an individual to secure and maintain a job, connect with family, and have access to education. By removing this barrier, there is one less hurdle for former inmates to cross in order to re-enter society.
